Just Stop
Just Stop Oil have excelled themselves. They have now confirmed what everyone knew. They are a bunch of over-privileged, indoctrinated morons whose activism is now beyond a joke.
How do you recruit people to a cause, especially one as noble as saving the planet? If you happen to belong to the only group of individuals who know how to achieve such a glorious endeavour one would assume you and your fellow travellers would do their utmost to win people over to your point of view in the most positive and creative way they can without causing harm or inconvenience to those you are trying to recruit to your point of view. Surely this would be your MO? Apparently not if you belong to Just Stop Oil. Their strategy appears to be one of attrition. The more they disrupt and inconvenience people's lives the happier and more successful they consider themselves to be.
Their latest activism is their most egregious stunt yet. They have been busy spraying paint on one of the world's most ancient and well-known monuments - Stonehenge. What sacrilege. What an act of sheer mindless vandalism. If these over-privileged, indoctrinated individuals only realised the enormous cost that their luddite mentality is having on the health and well-being of their less privileged brethren in less developed countries, they might then appreciate how lucky they are to live in a country that enjoys one of the highest standards of living in the western world. A standard of living based entirely on the energy extracted from beneath their feet.
Yes, there are environmental downsides to the use of fossil fuels, which are being addressed. But what does JSO want us to do - return to the stone age to live in mud huts like our ancestors who built Stonehenge? There would be a certain irony in this because despite our ancestor's primitive lifestyle they certainly knew something we didn't and harnessed knowledge that enabled them to achieve feats of engineering that even today exceed our engineering skills. So maybe life wouldn't be so bad after all. But the reality is we can not return to that existence even if we were able to or indeed wanted to. We would all starve.
I know what I prefer and I know that the half trillion pounds spent annually by the west on trying to achieve the non sensical, unattainable goal of Net Zero would be far better spent on alleviating third world poverty. People who support climate activism are jumping on a bandwagon virtual signalling their righteousness for a cause they have no real understanding of. They are simply listening to media sound bites pushing a biased agenda that has no real basis in science, despite the false claim that 97% of climate scientists are agreed that there is an impending climate crisis. The only crisis is the unimaginable amounts of money being poured into the bottomless pockets of those businesses thriving on the back of this scam.
The article by David Wright published on today's 'The Conservative Woman' website (please don't think they have anything to do with the Conservative Party, they don't) illustrates the enormous cost to society of following this net zero climate agenda.
If this climate alarmism continues we may well be living in mud huts in the not too distant future.

You've got it right, James. One thing though, is that the term "fossil fuel" is actually a lie. Yet another mammoth one! Oil is not coming from fossils but is an element continually produced from organic decay. Or so I've heard but today, finally, I'm going to do some actual research on this. Will report back once I've come up with some facts.
